About the role

Hybrid | Garching (Munich), Germany

We're looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect ERP & Core Platforms (m/f/d) for Amer Sports' office in Garching (Munich), Germany.

This is a Director-level position within Amer Sports' Group IT organization.

Amer Sports is a global collective of iconic sports and outdoor brands, powered by a community of people who share a passion for authenticity, impact, and excellence.

We bring together leading brands, talented teams, and a culture built on collaboration. If you're looking for an environment where you can make an impact and grow your career, we'd love to hear from you.

What you will be doing

Architecture Strategy & Governance

Define and own the north star architecture for Amer Sports' ERP and core platform landscape - setting the long-term target state across SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, EWM, Datasphere, Ariba, and Business AI Platform

Champion Clean Core principles - governing customization boundaries, driving RISE-compliant extension patterns, and keeping the SAP platform extensible, upgradable, and AI-ready

Design the ERP template for scale - ensuring that growth across brands, channels, and markets is absorbed by the platform without a proportional increase in complexity

S/4 Transformation Authority

Serve as the primary architecture authority for the global S/4 HANA transformation - governing design decisions through the change control board and ensuring alignment with the target architecture

Work day-to-day with program leadership, the system integrator, and workstream leads to resolve architectural trade-offs while keeping delivery on track

Set a clear architectural runway beyond go-live, positioning the ERP landscape for continuous evolution - including future Business AI Platform capabilities

Brand & Functional Collaboration

Act as the primary architecture partner to Enterprise Applications - aligning platform design, application ownership, and operational handover

Collaborate with brand IT organizations across the portfolio - including Salomon and Wilson - to ensure brand requirements are represented in architecture decisions and global standards travel into brand contexts

Partner with Finance Transformation to deliver a reliable, high-integrity ERP foundation for Finance processes, reporting, and the Finance transformation roadmap

Be present where the work happens - this role involves regular international travel (20–40%), with visits to key stakeholder teams and locations including Chicago and Salomon sites

Governance & Stakeholder Influence

Make sound architectural decisions under live program pressure - holding design principles while staying pragmatic about delivery realities

Build trust-based working relationships across program, brand, and functional counterparts; architectural authority in this role is exercised through collaboration and influence, not hierarchy

You will report to the Head of Tech Strategy & Enterprise Architecture.

What you need to succeed

Experience & Technical Expertise

10+ years of experience in SAP and enterprise architecture, including architecture governance of large-scale SAP transformation programs

Deep command of SAP architecture across ECC and S/4 HANA - covering Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, and EWM

Hands-on experience with S/4 HANA, EWM, Ariba, and BTP - including SAP data modeling, integration with non-SAP systems, and Clean Core governance tooling

Solid understanding of S/4 HANA in consumer-goods contexts (Fashion, Vertical Business, DTC and B2B) and Business AI Platform architecture

Proven experience in multi-brand or multi-entity environments, balancing global standardization with business-specific requirements

Architecture Frameworks & Tooling

Working knowledge of EA management and modeling tools - LeanIX, ArchiMate, or equivalent

Familiarity with established architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, with the ability to document, govern, and communicate architecture using industry-standard repositories and notations

Skills & Personal Attributes

Track record of building trust-based relationships and aligning diverse stakeholder groups across program, brand, and functional levels

Confident architectural decision-making under pressure - able to hold the line on design principles without losing sight of delivery momentum

Structured communicator - clear and effective across program, brand, and executive audiences, in both written and presentation formats

Languages & Qualifications

Fluent English (written and spoken) - mandatory; the role operates daily with international program, brand, and functional teams

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or equivalent

What we consider a plus

Background in consulting

Experience with architecture continuity and platform stewardship beyond go-live

SAP architecture certifications (e.g. SAP Certified Application Associate, SAP Enterprise Architect)
