About the role

ABOUT TITAN DYNAMICS

Founded in 2023, we build additively manufactured UAS and software for commercial and defense customers. Our field-tested fixed-wing, multirotor, and VTOL systems deliver combat-proven performance, rapid adaptability, and lower-cost scalability, powered by proprietary technology that can auto-generate UAS designs and enable deployable factories to produce thousands of aircraft wherever they are needed. We design, print, and fly at a pace traditional aerospace can't match.

THE ROLE

You'll work across our entire UAS lineup (fixed-wing, VTOL quadplane, and multirotor platforms) on aerodynamics, configuration design, performance analysis, and flight test. You'll also encode your engineering knowledge into Prometheus, our aircraft auto-generation software, helping build the tools that design aircraft automatically.

At Titan, the design-build-fly loop is measured in days. You'll sketch a configuration, watch it print, and see it fly the same week, then feed what you learned back into the next iteration and into Prometheus itself.

Outside of Prometheus, Titan maintains several other software suites, such as PPS (Performance Prediction Software) and various Open Source tools. You will have the opportunity to contribute to these codebases and new ones as we our solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and analyze new aircraft configurations across our fixed-wing, VTOL, and multirotor lineup

• Perform aerodynamic analysis, sizing, stability & control work, and performance prediction (range, endurance, payload trades)

• Develop and validate Prometheus features: performance models, sizing logic, geometry generation, and design rules

• Support flight test: instrumentation, data analysis, ArduPilot tuning (TECS, trim, transition parameters), and enhancing Prometheus' real-life performance vs. predicted.

• Design airframe structures optimized for additive manufacturing. You'll learn (or already know) what different processes and materials can and can't do

• Collaborate daily with software, electrical, and manufacturing/production teams in a tight, integrated team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field OR relevant experience

• Solid foundation in aerodynamics, aircraft performance, and stability & control

• Experience taking aircraft designs from concept to flight. Academic design/build/fly, professional, or serious personal projects all count

• Proficiency with analysis tools such as OpenVSP, XFLR5, AVL, or CFD packages

• CAD proficiency (NX preferred)

• Familiarity with small UAS and ArduPilot/PX4 firmware

• Bias toward building and testing over analysis paralysis

NICE TO HAVE

• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and design-for-additive-manufacturing

• Knowledge of commonly used power systems and battery chemistries

• Scripting/programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for analysis automation, a big plus given the Prometheus work

• FPV, RC aircraft, or drone-building as a hobby (especially VTOLs/quadplanes)

• Flight test experience with instrumented vehicles and log analysis (ArduPilot dataflash logs)

DETAILS

• Location: Torrance, CA (on-site; our aircraft, clean room, and flight line are the job)

• Due to the nature of our work with the U.S. Department of Defense, applicants must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen or permanent resident)

If you've ever wished aerospace moved faster, come see what it looks like when an aircraft goes from requirements to maiden flight in a day.

Pay Range: $100,000-$150,000 per year.
