Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAE Engineer Occupant Protection to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development and validation of occupant safety systems through advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulations and mechanical design. Duties
Perform comprehensive CAE simulations, including crashworthiness, occupant kinematics, and restraint system analysis using tools such as LS-DYNA, Radioss, or PAM-CRASH.
Develop detailed mechanical models and drawings for occupant protection components utilizing CAD software like Catia ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards.
Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to optimize component fitment and functionality within vehicle structures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including design engineering, manufacturing, and testing - to integrate occupant protection systems into overall vehicle architecture.
Utilize finite element analysis (FEA) and system modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink to predict performance outcomes and refine designs proactively.
Lead root cause analysis for failure investigations related to occupant safety components, implementing corrective actions effectively.
Manage project schedules, milestones, and documentation to ensure timely delivery of engineering product development projects aligned with project management best practices.
Skills
Strong mechanical engineering foundation with experience in mechanical product development projects within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD software such as Catia, and LS-Dyna building information modeling (BIM) tools for 3D modeling and mechanical drafting.
Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), schematics, mechanical drawings, and machine design principles aligned with ASME codes & standards.
Skilled in simulation software including FEA (Finite Element Analysis), MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, and CAD-based analysis tools like CAD or CAA systems.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
