Investment Banking Associate, Industrials

Position overview

We are seeking a high-caliber Investment Banking Associate to join our Sydney-based team, with a preference for candidates bringing experience in the General Industrials sector. The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of high-profile transactions in Australia, including M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory.

The successful candidate will play a key role in deal execution while gaining exposure to senior leadership and participating in marquee transactions across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Support senior bankers in originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions, equity and other financial advisory services.

Conduct industry research, financial analysis, and valuation assessments to assist in client pitches and transaction processes.

Prepare detailed financial models, pitch books, and presentation materials for client meetings and transactions.

Coordinate due diligence processes, manage data rooms, and liaise with legal, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure deal execution is seamless.

Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, and industry contacts to identify new business opportunities and the firm's presence in the region.

Assist in mentoring and training junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.

Relevant experience in investment banking, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance transactions.

Experience working on end-to-end transactions.

Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
