The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist with month-end reporting, financial processing, reconciliations and compliance activities while working closely with stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.

Support the preparation of management reports, budgets and forecasts.

Prepare and issue customer invoices and assist with customer account reconciliations.

Process payments and support daily cash management activities.

Assist with BAS, payroll tax and other statutory reporting requirements.

Support internal and external audit processes.

Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems.

Respond to finance-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function.

To be successful in this role you will need:

A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

CA or CPA qualification completed, currently working towards, or a willingness to commence.

Approximately 2–5 years’ experience in a commercial accounting environment.

Experience with month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.

Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
