The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our Finance Business Services team based in Docklands.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you will lead a team of Accounts Payable professionals while ensuring the timely, accurate and efficient processing of invoices, payments and reconciliations. This role combines people leadership with operational excellence, providing the opportunity to influence process improvements, strengthen stakeholder relationships and contribute to the ongoing success of our finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys coaching and developing people, driving efficiencies and creating positive outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of Accounts Payable professionals
Ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and within required timeframes
Managing escalated supplier enquiries and resolving payment-related issues
Supporting month-end activities, reconciliations and audit requirements
Maintaining strong internal controls and compliance standards
Partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Procurement and the broader business
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance processes and systems
Supporting vendor onboarding and master data governance activities
Monitoring team performance and ensuring high service standards are consistently delivered.
What You'll Bring
You're an experienced Accounts Payable professional with strong leadership skills, a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for delivering great stakeholder outcomes.
Previous leadership experience within an Accounts Payable or Finance Shared Services environment
Strong understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations and payment cycles
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams
Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems, with D365 experience highly regarded
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement efficiencies
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
Advanced organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience
