Role: Group Financial Reporting Accountant

Department: Finance

Role Location: Aldersgate Street, London (UK)

Reports to: Global Head of Accounting and Reporting

Employment Type: Permanent

Role Summary:

As an Group Financial Reporting Accountant at Apex Group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality group financial reporting, statutory accounts, and investor reporting across a global organisation. Working closely with finance teams, auditors, lenders, and investors, you'll support group consolidations, manage audit processes, drive working capital improvements, and enhance reporting systems and processes, helping to ensure accurate financial insights and strong financial governance across the business.

Key responsibilities:

Working capital management

Drive working capital efficiency by tracking and managing receivables and payables across the group.

Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for Group entities with focus on working capital and cash

Drive standardization of reconciliation processes across both group subsidiaries and the wider group

Group statutory accounts and reporting

Lead the end-to-end production of group statutory accounts and ensure full compliance with IFRS

Draft and compile disclosures and notes for the AGL group consolidated financial statements.

Coordinate Group YE audit and delivery of the information required by the externa auditors

Lead end-to-end production of group holding entity statutory accounts, liaising with operational teams and the auditors to drive efficient completion

Assist in system and process improvements in Workday, including reporting enhancements and automation

Assist with the quarterly, and annual multi-currency group consolidation process

Assist with subsidiary sub-group consolidations as necessary

Investor relations and lender reporting

Drafting investor and lender presentation materials

Assist in production of debt compliance packages including leverage, interest cover and liquidity covenants

Support answering queries from investors and lenders as appropriate

Skills required/needed:

Professional qualification required (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).

3 + years post qualification finance experience, ideally including exposure to Group consolidation and statutory reporting. Big 4 experience is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Strong analytical ability to process through financial information in order to identify key drivers.

Ability to work independently as well as within the wider finance group

Workday experience desirable but not essential.

Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP) as relevant to group consolidation and statutory reporting (e.g. Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting, Financial Instruments).

Comfortable communicating financial information to senior management, lenders or investors.
