Senior Network Security Migration Engineer (Cisco & Check Point)

Location: Perth, WA (Perth-based candidates only)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Migration Engineer to lead and support a large-scale enterprise firewall migration project. This is an exciting opportunity to join a complex transformation program involving the migration from Check Point to Cisco Secure Firewall across a multi-site environment.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience delivering similar network security and firewall migration initiatives within large enterprise organisations and will act as a key technical authority throughout the implementation and migration lifecycle.

Key Requirements

Strong experience with Cisco Networking, Cisco Secure Firewall, and Firepower Management Centre (FMC)

Proven expertise in Check Point Firewalls and SmartConsole

Experience designing and supporting multi-site network security architectures

Demonstrated capability to act as an implementation and migration authority on large-scale security transformation projects

Strong firewall policy management skills, including:

Rule consolidation

Rule reviews

Policy optimisation and rationalisation

Hands-on, end-to-end experience delivering Check Point to Cisco Secure Firewall migrations

Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and critical infrastructure

Desired Background

Previous experience leading or delivering enterprise-scale firewall migration programs

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional infrastructure and security teams
