About the role
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE
Taku Fisheries is an Alaskan seafood processing company that manages the full process, from purchasing fresh-caught seafood from fishermen to processing, smoking, and selling products through domestic and international wholesale and retail channels. The plant operates year-round, although workloads fluctuate seasonally with industry demand.
The Director, Retail & E Commerce Operations is responsible for oversight of the retail, e commerce, fulfillment, and smokehouse operations for the company. The Director participates in the company’s senior management team.
Essential Functions

The Director oversees and manages the following three key functions of the company.
Retail Operations:
Manages all retail business operations including:
· Hiring, training, development and performance management of retail staff.
· Sets the strategy for the retail business.
· Sets sales and productivity goals.
· Ensure inventory management meets customer demands, including inventory reporting, ordering, and pricing.
· Responsible for facility management, safety and security, staffing and sales.
E Commerce:
Manages the E Commerce functions of the business including:
· Online product orders and fulfillment
· Wholesale orders and fulfillment.
· Marketing and sales activities
· Company web site design
· Sets growth strategies and sales and productivity goals.
· Accurately reports on progress to goals.
· Recruits and hire staff, ensuring all are trained on ecommerce tasks.
· Ensures coordination with the retail, smokehouse, and value-added operations of the company.
Smokehouse Operations:
Manages the smokehouse operations of the company including:
· Recruits, hires and ensuring staff are trained in all smokehouse tasks.
· Ensures products meet retail and commerce demands.
· Ensures all safety and food production, health requirements are met.
· Coordinates with other company managers.

· Must be able to view a computer screen for long periods of time.

· Occasional exposure to weather and a plant environment.
Required Education & Experience:
· Four-year business-related degree preferred.
· Minimum of four years supervisory experience required.
· Experience, education or general knowledge of the Alaska fisheries desirable.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
· Ability to work well in a team environment.
· Ability to proactively address issues and ask questions as needed.
· Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
· Ability to work independently.
· Attention to detail and completing tasks timely and accurately are a must.
Pay: $88,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
