Job Description

This role can be based in our San Francisco, CA or Los Angeles, CA office.

Informa’s Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer with extensive experience and proficiency in React and Node.js.

Role Accountability and Duties:

Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks, specifically React and Node.js

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices

Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences

Implement and maintain API integrations with third-party services and internal systems

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the end users

Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them into your work as appropriate.

Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science or other technical, analysis, or mathematics subject area (will consider experience in lieu of a degree for highly qualified applicants) preferred.

8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on React and Node.js

Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications

In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks

Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating front-end interfaces with backend services

Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git

Experience working in an Agile, fast-paced development environment

Experience identifying and understanding organizational and user requirements and specifications and translating those into quality code

Ability to interact professionally and effectively with other team members and customers (technical and non-technical)

Must be able to think creatively and analyze/solve difficult problems with logic and tenacity

A demonstrated ability to work independently on complex tasks with little direction, supervision, or management oversight

Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Strong understanding of database management systems, including MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Expertise in microservices architecture

Advanced skills in Python programming

Solid experience with PHP development

The salary range for this role is $150K- $170K/YR, based on experience.
