Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join the Database Services team supporting enterprise-scale database environments across on-premises data centers and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on DBA with deep expertise in MySQL production environments, replication, high availability, performance tuning, and DevOps automation.

The successful candidate will help maintain highly available database platforms, support mission-critical production systems, implement automation, improve database observability, and contribute to cloud database initiatives across Azure and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support MySQL production and development database environments.

Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly available database infrastructures.

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot MySQL replication environments.

Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.

Perform MySQL patching, upgrades, and version migrations.

Support cloud-hosted databases including Azure and AWS managed database services.

Automate database administration tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps tools.

Monitor database health using enterprise observability platforms.

Troubleshoot production database issues while ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.

Collaborate with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams on new database projects.

Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical production database incidents.

Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and proactive monitoring.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

5 7+ years of professional Database Administration experience.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on MySQL DBA experience supporting production environments.

Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
