About the role

We are evolving our business strategy to become a total beverage company by giving people more of the drinks they want. This strategy includes changing recipes to reduce added sugar, promoting low and no-calorie beverage options and making smaller packages more available to enable portion control. This position leads the way to assure the on-going production of high quality and safe food products that comply with product design and meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate in this role will have experience in food manufacturing process and quality assurance with the ability to identify new suppliers and materials that comply with specifications and quality standards.

What You’ll Do for Us

Development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standardized and capabilities, product specifications, processes and performance for ingredient and packaging materials.

Develop strategies, track implementation, evaluate and/or certify effectiveness of Quality s and Food Safety Management Systems for authorized supplier facilities.

Continual research and identification of new technologies and processes to improve quality, as well as the ability to apply concepts to reduce process variation, improve quality, and optimize cost.

Provide Quality Leadership, in collaboration with Supplier Corporate Leadership, to optimize delivered quality performance and capabilities for incoming package materials.

Develop appropriate business-related reports to drive quality improvement across the supply chain. This includes historical quality metrics and data to develop and track product quality and cost of quality failure.

Act as quality expert and consultant by responding to targeted questions from the field or other departments/business units. This includes acting as a resource for general information and acting as a consultant for other technical personnel in the Company in order to execute against the organizations food safety requirements and continually improve to address changing market, regulatory, and company conditions.

Ensure continuity of supply and authorization of new supply points through conducting on-site audits of supplier facilities, trade sample laboratories, Divisions, Bottlers, or fountain customers to confirm conformance to the principles, policies, standards, specifications and requirements of the Company.

Lead strategic problem solving; track or follow up on corrective action plans in order to ensure completion of all items in the specified time frame. Drive sustainable improvements to prevent reoccurring quality issues or disruptions at filling operations.

Host, attend or make presentations at a professional or client meeting to collect or share information relevant to Company business. This can include reporting results and findings from assigned special projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, related technical field

5+ years’ experience in a technical area such as R&D product development, laboratory management, quality systems, and/or engineering background.

Knowledge of statistics, including fundamental analyses with the ability to demonstrated proven analytical skills resulting in decision making that protects the customer, consumer and the brand.

Strong working knowledge with Quality Systems and implementation of Quality Systems

Strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance Principles and Food safety

Previous experience with project management, continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma

Knowledge of manufacturing and process controls for beverage ingredient and packaging

Protect information provided in confidence from outside sources (bottlers and other business partners) and ensure this information is not disseminated to those not directly involved.

Determine personal actions needed to satisfy a customer/client requirement.

Establish relationships and work effectively with external individuals/parties (e.g., customers, bottlers, consumers, communities, government agencies, vendors, suppliers) in order to create opportunities for the Company to meet financial goals.

Build and develop relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback on product/service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and/or achieve business results.

Build an understanding of the customer/client/partner needs and expectations within your area of accountability.
