Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Mexico. Our client is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company specializing in discovering, developing, and commercializing prescription medicines. You’ll join the Cloud Enablement Team, working with colleagues across the company to design and engineer cloud solutions in a multi-cloud environment. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who craves working with new tech in the cloud and is looking for responsibility, ownership, and variety.
Requirements:
6+ years of experience with setting up, configuring, and maintaining cloud services.
Strong understanding of designing scalable and resilient cloud architectures.
Strong experience in architecting solutions using cloud-native services and technologies.
Knowledge of IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) for automating infrastructure provisioning.
Understanding writing modular and reusable infrastructure code.
Experience working in agile teams using SCRUM and SAFe methodologies.
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
Experience in developing scripts to streamline deployment processes.
Experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Good understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.
Familiarity with identity and access management concepts in cloud platforms.
Experience in optimizing cloud resources for cost efficiency.
Ability to identify and address performance bottlenecks in cloud environments.
Expertise in designing scalable architectures to handle varying workloads.
Knowledge of auto-scaling configurations and strategies
Ability to lead incident response efforts in system outages or security incidents.
Solid understanding of diagnostics for identifying root causes of issues.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure problems.
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work closely with developers, operations, and other stakeholders.
Effective communication of design decisions and rationale to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently to deliver objectives.
Understanding that the work is part of a value chain supporting patients in need, urgency is needed.
Have a positive can-do approach.
The enthusiasm to adjust known methods to fit in with processes and customer requirements, and find new ways of doing things.
The understanding is when to take initiative, speak up, and be prepared.
Passion to learn and develop new tech skills as required, supporting the multi-cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
Work primarily with AWS, Azure, and GCP technologies to enable project, product, and platform teams to bring value to the company through the cloud.
Collaborate across various teams and roles: architects, product owners, data scientists, and software developers, to engineer high-quality cloud solutions.
Enable project, product, and platform teams to deliver independently, so automation, self-service, provision of guardrails, and baking of process and governance into workflow and technology are factors.
Challenge with new technologies, services, and ways of working in a large enterprise-scale environment.
