Senior Automation Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team onsite in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of automation frameworks and solutions that improve product quality, system reliability, and engineering efficiency. You will collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, DevOps, product teams, and QA to drive best-in-class automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, API, and/or mobile applications

Lead automation strategy, including tool selection, architecture, and implementation standards

Build and execute automated test suites to validate functionality, performance, and reliability

Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure testability, observability, and quality standards

Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues

Mentor junior engineers and promote automation best practices and coding standards

Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve automation capabilities

Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering

Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript)

Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar

Hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., RestAssured, Postman, Karate)

Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git)

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Background in performance or load testing (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)

Experience implementing BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)

Familiarity with security testing practices

Previous experience in a lead or mentorship role
