Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
The Analyst / Associate of the GFM Product Control (PC) team supporting Credit Derivative (CRD) Desk will be expected to perform the following roles and responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities
(a) Daily reporting:
Daily PL report production and PL attribution and analysis
Daily commentary on significant PL drivers and relating it to the business strategies of the desk
Monitoring New Deals, Late Deals and Market Operations, Transfer pricing
Monitoring checks for transactions done at Off Market rates
Exceptions monitoring on Reported PL vs Trader Estimates and breaches on threshold limits for unexplained PL attributions
Partnering with Front Office, Finance, Risk (RMG), Operations, and IT teams to assess and resolve deal-related discrepancies and ensure accurate reflection in reporting systems
(b) Monthly reporting:
Reconciliation of PL between Management reporting vs General Ledger
GLAO certification of Balance Sheet accounts
Reserves computation
Review significant MTD PL drivers
Reporting of Key Risk and Performance Indicators for the desk
(c) Ad-Hoc and Projects tasks:
Streamline workflows to enhance operational efficiency within the team
Review control processes for gaps
Handle ad-hoc queries from Front Office, Finance, Risk (RMG) and Operations
Participate in systems implementation/enhancement projects User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Assist in responding to internal and external audit requests for the desks
Requirements
Degree holder in Accountancy or Banking or Finance is preferred.
Strong control awareness and inquisitive mindset
Knowledge of treasury products, derivatives is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Familiar with Copilot
Ability to relate product control processes with the business strategies and activities of the desk
