About the Role
The Project Engineer / QAQC is responsible for coordinating the safe, compliant and efficient execution of project works while acting as the site focal point for Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities. The role ensures project scope is delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, project schedules, approved specifications, quality management systems, client standards, budget targets and Downer's Zero Harm requirements. The position provides leadership in quality compliance, inspection management, completion documentation, defect management and project handover activities. The successful candidate can envision themselves attending to duties such as:
Coordinate and manage daily project execution activities between supervisors, trades subcontractors
Monitor progress against schedule and identify risks, constraints and opportunities
Provide timely reporting to Project Manager: PRAPs, weekly status, monthly summaries
Act as the project QA/QC Lead and site focal point for all quality-related matters
Develop, review and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection Test Records (ITRs), quality procedures and check sheets
Coordinate mechanical completion and project turnover activities
Support procurement planning and subcontractor selection in line with guidance from Project Manager and Contract Manager
Support vendor management, technical clarifications, and commissioning assistance
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
Minimum 5 years' experience delivering industrial construction, maintenance or brownfields projects
FIFO site experience within oil & gas, mining, energy or heavy industrial environments
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Demonstrated experience in Project Engineering, with exposure to QA/QC activities highly regarded
Knowledge of project completions and turnover processes
Demonstrated understanding of OHS legislation, principles and practices
Proven ability to forecast project schedules and determine variations
Ability to work a 2:2 roster
