About the role:

The Senior Project Officer in the Cancer and Population Screening team will support and contribute to the policy and program implementation for Victoria's population bases screening programs. The Senior Project Officer will support the oversight of the SunSmart Program, as well as supporting the Newborn Blood Spot Program. This includes influencing national and state policy outcomes and contract management with health prevention partners.

The Senior Project Officer will facilitate and strengthen relationships between stakeholders within the Branch, Department (central office and divisions), other departments, local government, non-government organisations, researchers, industry and communities. To be successful in this role you will be a vibrant team player, who has project management skills, an ability to take a strategic approach to challenges, can build strong relationships and can excel in delivering health prevention functions for the organisation.

The Population and Cancer Screening team leads statewide coordination, policy and program implementation for Victoria's population based screening programs, including bowel, breast, cervical and lung cancer screening, the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Program, and emerging screening initiatives. The team also leads policy development and program delivery relating to skin cancer prevention and early detection.
