We are seeking a hands-on Software Development Engineer with deep software engineering, Generative AI, and cloud architecture expertise to deliver complex technical engagements within AWS Professional Services. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with proven engineering capabilities: the software development background to work with complex architectures and code, and the curiosity to invent on behalf of our customers using AWS services. You develop using agentic tools and services. AI-powered coding assistants, agentic IDEs, and AI-driven development workflows are part of how you build every day. You understand how to design and orchestrate AI agents, work with latest protocols and frameworks, and build autonomous systems using services like Amazon Bedrock. You'll work directly with customers to deliver innovative AWS solutions, applying your technical expertise to ensure successful outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and security.

Key job responsibilities

Deliver Software with Customers: Work hands-on alongside customer engineering teams to translate business requirements into working software. Architect and ship cloud-native solutions on AWS, modernize existing applications, and build distributed, event-driven systems.

Build Full-Stack Applications: Develop responsive frontend interfaces (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue) and scalable backend services (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Java) end-to-end, deploying on AWS with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.

Engineer GenAI Solutions: Build applications powered by generative AI, including RAG pipelines, LLM-backed features, and conversational interfaces on services like Amazon Bedrock. Apply prompt engineering, grounding, evaluation, and guardrail techniques to deliver accurate, secure, and cost-effective outcomes.

Design Agentic Systems: Design and implement AI agent architectures and multi-agent systems using emerging protocols (e.g., MCP, A2A) and orchestration frameworks to automate meaningful customer workflows.

Build the Agentic Way: Use AI-powered coding assistants and agentic IDEs as part of your daily workflow, and champion these methodologies to accelerate coding, testing, code review, and delivery for your team and your customers.

Own Quality and Operational Excellence: Take ownership of the solutions you ship. Write tested, secure, maintainable code, and ensure applications meet performance, security, and operational standards.

Raise the Technical Bar: Guide customer and partner teams on engineering practices and architectural decisions. Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and leave teams more capable than you found them.

A day in the life

As an Agentic AI Full Stack SDE, you work as an embedded member of delivery teams, contributing hands-on across the full software lifecycle. A typical day combines collaborative design sessions, where you help translate business requirements into technical architecture, with focused development time building frontend interfaces, backend services, and generative AI and Agentic capabilities on AWS. You make extensive use of AI-powered development tools and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery without compromising on quality.

Beyond writing code, you contribute to code reviews, share engineering best practices, and mentor customer and partner engineers to strengthen their capabilities. You partner closely with architects, product stakeholders, and delivery leads to remove technical blockers and keep engagements moving toward measurable outcomes. Your priorities shift with the needs of each engagement, but the constant is a focus on delivering secure, well-tested, production-ready software that creates lasting value for customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience

8+ years of professional software development experience building full-stack applications, hands-on across frontend (e.g., React, Next.js, Angular, Vue) and backend (e.g., APIs, microservices, data layers) using modern languages (e.g., TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Kotlin, .NET)

Experience building applications that integrate generative AI or large language model capabilities (e.g., RAG, chat interfaces, agent workflows, or LLM-powered features)

Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of the software development workflow

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience building multi-agent systems, including AI agent architectures, orchestration patterns, and emerging protocols (e.g., MCP, A2A)

Experience with RAG patterns, vector and Graph databases, embedding pipelines, and prompt engineering techniques

Experience with agentic software development methodologies, using AI agents to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and code review

Background in API design and implementation (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and identity protocols (OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0)

Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes)

Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices patterns at scale

Familiarity with observability and monitoring practices (e.g., OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, Datadog) with a focus on operational excellence
