Manager – ASH Procurement
About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented Manager – Procurement (Ash / Fly Ash / Pond Ash) with over 10 years of expertise in fly ash sourcing from thermal power plants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with power plant authorities, securing ash through tenders, e-auctions, and direct agreements, and ensuring a consistent, cost-effective supply to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and procure fly ash and pond ash from government and private thermal power plants across multiple regions.
Build and maintain a comprehensive database of thermal power plants, including production capacity, ash generation data, and key contact points.
Establish and nurture strong relationships with plant authorities to secure favorable sourcing agreements.
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of tendering, e-auctions, and direct procurement negotiations.
Monitor tender schedules, submission requirements, and ensure complete documentation compliance.
Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, operations, legal) for smooth contract execution and delivery planning.
Track procurement metrics including cost, volume, and supply reliability; drive continuous optimization.
Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and contractual obligations.
Maintain detailed reports on procurement performance, vendor evaluation, and supply chain health.
Support business development and project teams with accurate ash availability insights for new projects.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 10+ years of experience in fly ash / ash procurement (mandatory).
Strong network and established relationships with thermal power plants (e.g., NTPC, State Utilities, IPPs).
Hands-on experience in tendering, reverse auctions, and direct negotiations with plant authorities.
Solid understanding of ash logistics, government policies, environmental regulations, and contract management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel extensively for on-ground sourcing and relationship management.
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and tender platforms (such as MSTC, GeM, NTPC portals).
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in cement, construction, infrastructure, or waste-to-value sectors.
Knowledge of ash utilization norms, transportation regulations, and sustainability practices.
Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost efficiency, quality, and timely supply.
Ability to work independently and drive procurement strategies in a competitive environment.
Pay: From ₹900,000.00 per year
