QA Automation Engineer

What We’re Building

Our goal is to become the go-to Financial Operating System for accounting firms and SMEs in Southern Europe, unifying accounting, tax, payments, planning, and banking into a single platform. We are currently a tight-knit team of 57 people and plan to grow in 2026/2027, with a strong focus on engineering, product design, and sales.

Today, Kabilio already runs three core products in production, Invoices Processing, Bank Transactions, and Invoicing, used daily by real customers. At the same time, we’re building our Accounting platform, the product that defines our long-term vision and the reason Kabilio was founded. AI sits at the core of everything we build, from automating and categorizing financial data to enabling intelligent workflows and decision-making across the entire financial lifecycle. We rely on modern architectures and proven technologies to turn this vision into a scalable, production-ready platform.

Why this role matters?

This role exists to make quality a systematic, automated property of our engineering process rather than a manual, best-effort one. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will own the automated testing strategy and tooling that acts as a release gate. No release ships without passing it. Just as importantly, youʼll build the tools and frameworks that make writing and running reliable tests easy for the entire engineering team.

This is an individual contributor with a high degree of ownership and the opportunity to shape how we build software, without being a people manager.

What youʼll do

Design, build, and maintain automated test suites E2E, integration, and load tests) across our products.

Establish and own automated tests as a release gate integrated into our CI/CD pipelines.

Build and maintain internal tooling, frameworks, fixtures, and test-data utilities that make it fast and easy for the whole team to write and run reliable tests.

Define testing strategy and coverage priorities in collaboration with Tech Leads and the CTO.

Keep the suite fast, deterministic, and trustworthy – actively reducing flakiness and false positives.

Triage failures, distinguishing real regressions from environmental or flaky issues, and drive them to resolution.

Surface quality metrics (coverage, gate health, failure trends) so the team can act on them.

Partner with engineers to embed quality practices early (“shift-leftˮ) and champion a culture of testable, maintainable code.

What should you bring to the table?

Min 4 years of experience building and maintaining automated test suites for production web applications. Building test tooling, frameworks, or abstractions that other engineers use day to day.

Solid hands-on experience with E2E testing frameworks – ideally Playwright Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.

Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines as reliable release gates.

Solid grasp of testing strategy: the test pyramid, determinism, flakiness, test data management, and coverage trade-offs.

Ability to work autonomously with high ownership while collaborating closely with a team.

Professional level Spanish and decent English level :)
