What to Expect
Tesla's Cell Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Process Piping Commissioning Project Manager to lead a team through scoping, scheduling, execution, and turnover of projects. This role specializes in the commissioning of wet mechanical, compressed air, cryogenic, and electrolyte systems including associated controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong field intensive background in design review, quality inspections, pressure testing, flushing, pre-functional and functional checks, and system troubleshooting. The candidate will coordinate commissioning for process systems in Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Facility and special projects. Working experience of cryogenic piping and OSHA PSM regulated systems is required. Experience with cleanroom environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and healthcare facilities is preferred. In this role you will be responsible for execution of commissioning projects, scheduling, budget, design reviews, risk management, procurement coordination, planning work, managing work in the field, and troubleshooting system performance issues. It requires technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively support multiple teams. This role has a travel expectancy of up to 25%.
What You'll Do
Lead assigned commissioning projects and perform all phases from design, scoping, scheduling, execution, startup, to turnover
Perform BOD and design reviews
Develop commissioning plans, checklists, field reports, schedule, budget, and other technical documents related to mechanical commissioning
Systemize equipment and coordinate startup with construction team
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). Coordinate and perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Perform commissioning of process piping systems including: inspection, flushing, startup, safety testing, functional checks
Manage LOTOV program and control of process utilities for assigned systems
Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)
Maintain communications regarding schedule, budget, and progress updates with key stakeholders
Utilize completions management software to document progress and manage punchlist
What You'll Bring
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience performing commissioning with process piping systems and at least 5 years of project management experience
Exceptional dedication to safety and experience managing control of process systems
Ability to lead a team of technicians to meet project milestones. Procure and manage 3rd party contractors
Experience working in cleanroom, biomedical research, or similar environments is preferable
Technical expertise with rotating and static equipment, compressed air, process gases, cryogenic piping, wet mechanical, and OSHA PSM regulated systems
Competence reading of design drawings, submittals, P&ID’s, SOW’s, SOO’s, and TAB reports and a strong background in all aspects of scope management including, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation
