The Manager, Data Product Management & Governance plays a strategic and hands-on role in advancing MHUSA’s data-driven transformation. The position supports the development of business-focused data products, execution of data governance initiatives, and promotion of data literacy and adoption across the organization.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Product Strategy, this role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, IT, engineering teams, external partners, and global data organizations. The position translates business needs into scalable analytics solutions while ensuring alignment with MH Global’s Data & Analytics ambition, MHUSA Strategic Pillars, and established data governance standards and best practices.
Office/Location: Hybrid 3x a week based out of NYC Office
Compensation: $110,000-$137,000/ annually + bonus
Job responsibilities
Positions Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Product Management Leadership: 40%
Execute Data & AI Governance and Quality Initiatives
Partner with Global MH Data Governance, business stakeholders, IT, and engineering teams to improve data quality, consistency, usability, and trust.
Manage implementation of enterprise governance standards, including data ownership, stewardship, business rules, KPI definitions, glossary, catalog, and documentation practices.
Identify, assess, and help resolve data quality issues while ensuring data products and processes comply with privacy, security, and governance requirements.
Coordinate governance forums, stakeholder communications, and operating routines that reinforce consistent data practices and adoption.
Advance MHUSA’s Data and AI transformation journey by educating, influencing, and enabling business stakeholders to adopt data best practices.
Own defined components of data product management, implementation, and ongoing maintenance in partnership with IT.
Partner with Business Intelligence to identify opportunities to automate reporting, streamline tools, and improve organizational efficiency.
Product Management: 40%
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements
Partner with Marketing, Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Centers of Excellence to identify high-value analytics and data/AI product opportunities.
Facilitate workshops to gather, document, prioritize, and translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and development priorities.
Data and AI Product Delivery & Adoption
Support the design, enhancement, implementation, and ongoing adoption of enterprise data products and analytics solutions.
Develop prototypes, wireframes, and proof-of-concept solutions to accelerate stakeholder alignment and business understanding.
Coordinate with IT and engineering teams across roadmap planning, prioritization, development, testing, and deployment.
Roadmap Prioritization & Value Realization
Identify opportunities for advanced data products that integrate and harmonize data sets for better business decisioning.
Own data product roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, adoption potential, and level of effort.
Work with the Steering Committee to resolve competing priorities and focus delivery on highest-value opportunities.
Define and monitor product adoption, user feedback, success metrics, and business impact; communicate results and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
Stakeholder and Data Community Relationships: 20%
Adoption, Enablement & Strategic Partnership
Drive data and AI literacy, adoption, and responsible use through training, workshops, communications, demonstrations, and communities of practice.
Identify opportunities to improve business processes, productivity, user experience, and decision making through data, AI, automation, and emerging capabilities.
Partner with Brand, Commercial, IT, digital/data talent, Global MH, and LVMH stakeholders to reinforce best practices, upskill the organization, share MHUSA learnings, and accelerate adoption.
Prepare strategic and issue-based presentations for senior leaders, internal and external business partners, and global stakeholders.
Maintain agility by adapting responsibilities and priorities as business needs evolve; perform other duties as assigned.
Profile
Education :
Bachelor’s Degrees, or MBA Degree and/or years of equivalent experience.
Professional Experience & Skills:
5+ years of data experience in a packaged goods environment, building, deploying, and activating data products in service of business outcomes. Preferred experience in Data Product Management, Business Analytics, Data Governance, Digital Transformation, Data Strategy
Experience with the following market suppliers and technologies preferred: AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, Microsoft Suite including CoPilot, Tableau, Dataiku, Data Robot, Alteryx, LiveRamp, Data Galaxy, AI productivity tools including OpenAI, ChatGPT, Claude
Preferred familiarity with common CPG and Alc Bev industry data sources such as VIP, Nielsen, Circana/IRI, and Numerator
Some global experience preferred.
Wines and spirits experience in the U.S. three-tier system preferred.
Practical / Technical Knowledge
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive measurable impact through data best practices and transformation initiatives.
Effective communicator of complex data and business recommendations clearly, objectively, and with tact.
Demonstrated success building trusted cross-functional relationships and manages stakeholders to balance long-term solutions with quick wins.
Stays current on modern data, analytics, AI, and productivity tools; applies them effectively for MHUSA.
Applies strong business and commercial acumen to connect data capabilities and industry insights with high-impact decisions and outcomes.
