The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join a UK leading manufacturers of bespoke material handling equipment.

This is a well-established engineering business with a global reputation for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions across a wide range of industries. With continued investment in technology, product development and manufacturing capabilities, it's an exciting time to become part of the team.

This role is ideal for an Junior Electrical Design Engineer with around 1 year's Electrical Design experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive environment.

The Junior Electrical Design Engineer will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, working on bespoke engineering solutions from initial design through to commissioning while receiving ongoing training and mentorship from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities of the Junior Electrical Design Engineer

Assist with the design of electrical control systems for bespoke material handling equipment.

Produce and update electrical schematics and technical documentation using Electrical CAD software.

Support the specification of electrical components, control panels and cabling.

Assist with PLC and variable frequency drive (VFD) configurations.

Work alongside manufacturing and commissioning teams to support equipment testing and fault finding.

Assist in developing and validating new electrical designs.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering department.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical standards and company quality procedures.

Work closely with senior engineers to build technical knowledge and develop your skills.

Requirements of the Junior Electrical Design Engineer

Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering

Around 1 year's experience within an Electrical Design role

Experience designing electrical control panels

Basic PLC knowledge and experience

Experience using Electrical CAD software to produce electrical schematics

Experience working on material handling equipment (desired)
