The Program Manager, Security Innovation serves as subject matter expert on security technology systems, regulations, and programs and partners with various internal innovation teams on enterprise programs and initiatives.

What you'll do

Interacts with internal business and information technology units, industry partners, and regulatory agencies in identifying and implementing products and services critical to meeting American’s security objectives

Determines operational objectives by analyzing business functions, gathering technical information, evaluating regulatory requirements and providing technology solutions to complex problems

Assists in developing and tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as conducting examinations, inquiries and studies regarding security operations and compliance matters

Serves as American's primary contact and liaison with technology and innovation teams at DHS, including TSA and CBP, on employee, passenger, and cargo screening/vetting, and facilitation initiatives

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology or minimum 4 year equivalent experience/training

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Airline industry experience, including business process and supporting technology

3 years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development

Experience working with outside vendors and budgets

Experience preparing executive-level presentations

Experience in analytics, estimating and problem solving

Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

Strong leadership skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with teams across the enterprise as well as externally

Ability to effectively lead under potentially high stress and challenging situations

Self-starting and excelling in a project with minimal direction

Ability to think strategically and develop tactical methods to achieve objectives and goals

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, customers, and external groups, as well as working in a collaborative environment with geographically dispersed resources

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
