SRE Engineer - AP Applications

Role Overview
The SRE Engineer will be responsible for supporting AvidPay applications, which include multiple payment-related systems and supporting platforms. The role requires working in a dynamic environment with continuously evolving releases, ensuring operational stability, monitoring, and proactive issue management across the application landscape.
Required Skills and Expertise
Proficiency in .NET-based ecosystems and related development/runtime environments
Experience with function apps and distributed architectures
Knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ for queue monitoring and troubleshooting
Familiarity with schedulers (e.g., Nacha) for managing batch jobs and payment processes
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and deployment workflows
Strong understanding of SRE principles with focus on production support and operations.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and ing systems like PagerDuty
Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture and how applications are deployed and hosted
Ability to interpret technical architecture, including platform components and hosting environments (e.g., Azure-based services)
Ability to handle manual and automated monitoring, especially in dynamic release environments
Skills in incident management, handling, and response workflows
Strong troubleshooting capabilities for production issues and operational incidents
Ability to analyze logs, identify root causes, and support incident resolution.
Understanding of cloud-based environments and application hosting concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational support for cloud-based applications within payment ecosystem.
Monitor application health using tools such as Dynatrace and PagerDuty, including managing s and performing manual monitoring where required.
Perform troubleshooting across production systems, including handling incidents, s, and system anomalies.
Support and maintain processes related to incident management, change management, and operational workflows.
Work on scheduling and management of jobs, including platforms like Nacha and queue systems such as RabbitMQ.
Analyze system behavior and identify patterns to enable proactive issue detection rather than reactive responses.
Participate in knowledge transfer (KT) sessions and contribute to building detailed understanding documents and runbooks.
Collaborate with SMEs and engineering teams to understand application architecture, business flows, and technical dependencies.
Support integrations, upstream and downstream systems, and third-party components involved in payment processing.
Contribute to ongoing improvements in monitoring coverage, ing mechanisms, and operational efficiency.
Supporting applications including APIs, fraud platforms, reconciliation systems, and routing services.
