Position Overview

The Solution Architect is a senior-level, business-enabling role responsible for bridging the gap between complex business challenges and scalable, secure enterprise solutions. Acting as the primary architectural authority, you will design robust application landscapes, define technology integration strategies, and guide cross-functional teams from design through deployment.

In this role, you will act as a generalist-aligned architect who connects diverse SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, and specialized business applications. prior experience with LabVantage (LIMS) highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Technology Strategy

Define and maintain end-to-end solution architectures, application landscapes, and technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise goals.

Act as the primary technical authority and single point of contact (SPOC) for solution design and strategic technical decisions.

Design scalable, secure, and resilient architectures across cloud environments, SaaS applications, and specialized enterprise platforms.

Continually assess technology risks, technical debt, software lifecycle requirements, and systems modernization opportunities.

Integration, Security & Governance

Define secure, modern integration approaches, APIs, data flows, and dependencies across enterprise platforms and laboratory systems.

Ensure all solution designs strictly comply with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity policies, identity management (IAM), and data privacy regulations.

Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps teams to deliver compliant, highly available, and resilient systems.

Create and maintain key architecture artifacts, including system diagrams, data flow maps, standards, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).

Solution Delivery & Continuous Innovation

Partner with business leaders, Product Owners, and project managers to translate complex requirements into highly practical and effective technical designs.

Support high-impact transformational programs from initial conceptualization and scoping through deployment and Service Introduction.

Drive continuous improvement, automation, simplification, and innovation across business processes and core products.

Ensure all solution designs support operational excellence, ease of maintenance, and long-term business value.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Build trusted partnerships with business leaders, Product Owners, Project Managers, and global engineering teams.

Influence critical architectural decisions across diverse, global stakeholder groups and drive alignment toward common strategic outcomes.

Manage the architectural quality of vendor-delivered SaaS/software solutions, ensuring strict adherence to agreed technical standards and quality expectations.

Contribute actively to internal Communities of Practice to share best practices and elevate technology standards across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience: Strong IT background with progressive experience in Solution Architecture, Application Development, or Enterprise Applications.

Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, and delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions across multiple technologies and business departments.

Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical business leaders.

Methodologies: Experience working within Agile, DevOps, and structured project delivery frameworks.

Language: Fluent English (written and verbal).

Preferred & Highly Desirable

Specialized System Expertise: Deep familiarity or hands-on experience with LabVantage (LIMS) is highly desirable.

Architectural Frameworks: Practical knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).

Technology Stack: Experience with modern cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS), major SaaS solutions, API management, and standard enterprise integration patterns.

Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of cybersecurity, identity management, and regulatory compliance requirements within enterprise software environments.

Additional Certifications: ITIL, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or PMI/PMP certifications are a plus.

Key Functional Competencies

Solution Architecture & Design: Ability to conceptualize, design, and document comprehensive, enterprise-grade solutions.

Systems Integration & Data Flows: Strong understanding of APIs, middleware, and orchestrating complex data flows between on-premise, cloud, and SaaS applications.

Laboratory Informatics (Highly Desirable): Knowledge of LIMS environments (specifically LabVantage), laboratory workflows, instrument integration, and R&D systems.

Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ability to act as a collaborative "technology ambassador" and align diverse teams toward a common vision.

Supplier & Vendor Management: Capability to audit and govern technical deliverables from external vendors.

Security, Risk & Compliance Management: Designing with a "security-by-design" mindset while managing technical debt and compliance.

Agile & DevOps Ways of Working: Standardizing delivery through automated CI/CD pipelines, Git, and iterative sprint-based delivery.
