Job Description:
The GAAP Accountant will provide timely delivery of periodic GAAP related activities, tax reporting and account reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements in accordance with Swiss Code of Obligations, German GAAP, and US GAAP (annual basis).
Support statutory, internal, and tax audits.
Prepare statistical returns for Germany, Switzerland, UK, and US entities.
Manage direct and indirect tax preparation.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and plausibility checks.
Revenue Recognition
Oversee fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, and general ledger activities.
FX revaluations
Intercompany cost centre recharges;
Manage ICO reconciliations
Ensure compliance with SOX procedures, maintaining documentation and evidence for key controls.
Optimise internal processes and undertake additional duties as assign.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting theory
5+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
Excellent English skills, German is a plus
Highly detail oriented and organized in work
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to act and operate independently
High Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ERP experience would be an asset
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
Education and Experience:
BA degree in Accounting/Business; plus, three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
