About the role

On behalf of National Savings & Investments, we are looking for a Project Support Officer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (two days per week office based - London/Glasgow or Lytham St Annes).

As a Project Support Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:

Support the programme manager, project managers and the wider project team by utilising PMO, project and programme management best practices to deliver a high profile, business critical project to agreed scope within challenging timescales

Help establish a fit for purpose PMO to enable the smooth running of the project, providing support across governance cycles, project planning, reporting and RAIDD management

Project and workstream planning, tracking and reporting (including development of templates, collation of content from delivery workstreams and teams including suppliers and MI reports)

Support and coordination of key governance groups and forums (meeting administration and secretariat, ensuring quality documentation, capturing and tracking minutes, actions & decisions)

Workshop and event planning and facilitation

Maintaining stakeholder lists and logs

Development of project asset register for all artefacts, deliverables & documents

Document management (including quality review & assurance) and management of the project SharePoint site

Essential:

Experience of supporting projects or programmes within a structured project management environment

Experience of using project management processes, tools and techniques to support successful project delivery

Expertise in the use of tools (including Microsoft toolset outlined above) to create and maintain project documentation including high level and detailed plans, RAIDD / action / decision and other project logs and registers, and high-quality presentations

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands, respond positively to changing circumstances, and make effective decisions under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, providing effective support to Programme Managers, Project Managers and wider project teams, whilst recognising when to seek guidance or escalate issues appropriately
