AWS DevOps Engineer

On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a AWS DevOps Engineer for a 9 Month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in either Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle 3 days per week.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. Help people to move into work and support those already in work to progress, with the aim of increasing overall workforce participation

Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society

Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a AWS DevOps Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

Responsible for contributing to providing advice and guidance to others in the organisation.

Responsible for large blocks of work, employees in varied disciplines and with a wide span of leadership, breaking down user stories into tasks.

Design and manage the tactics for building reusable libraries, templates and services and own the development of medium-long term strategies for product lines within your Functional and Professional Communities

Communicate on a regular basis with a wide range of organisations and contacts internally and or externally, contributing to set strategic direction for DevOps teams and wider Engineering community

Lead the sharing of knowledge, documentation and good practice with the wider Engineering community

Work closely with senior officers, providing advice and suggesting courses of action, provide coaching, mentoring and support to Software and DevOps Engineer colleagues and peers
