R&D Portfolio Manager

Saint-Gobain Isover’s Research and Innovation Center, located north of Paris and accessible by public transport in less than one hour from Gare du Nord, is recruiting a Portfolio and Competence Team Manager.

Reporting to the R&D Director for Insulation Processes, you will be responsible for the R&D project portfolio related to the “blowing wool” roadmap within the Group’s Insulation R&D team. You will also manage a competence team within our Isover R&D center in Rantigny.

Your main responsibilities:

Manage and monitor an R&D project portfolio in line with the Group’s strategy, in collaboration with international marketing, purchasing, and industrial teams

Define and manage projects and studies, ensuring delivery through to market launch, while meeting deadlines, budgets, and the Group’s innovation quality processes

Propose and implement the intellectual property strategy for your portfolio

Act as a recognized technical expert in the Insulation business, in France and internationally:

Contribute to industrial excellence (incident resolution, continuous improvement initiatives, industrial and operational challenges)

Capitalize on knowledge and expertise

Support the development and strengthening of employees’ technical skills by delivering training within your area of expertise

Line-manage a competence team (engineers and technicians)

Short business trips, up to one week per month, are to be expected as part of this role.

Ce poste est-il fait pour vous ?

You hold a PhD or an Engineering degree with a strong scientific background in physics and chemistry, and have 5 to 10 years of experience in R&D and product development, ideally in construction materials (insulation experience is a plus).

You are driven by innovation and industrial challenges.

Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset

Ability to lead and influence in a complex and international environment

Collaborative and curious mindset

Fluent in English with excellent communication skills across all levels: operational teams, marketing, technical directors and senior management

Solid technical writing skills (technicals notes, specifications, operating procedures, etc.)
