Project Accountant (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

At Australian Venue Co., we're continually investing in the growth of our portfolio, with new venues, major refurbishments and exciting hospitality projects underway across Australia and New Zealand.

We're looking for a Project Accountant to join our Construction Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse pipeline of development projects, partnering closely with Design, Construction and Finance teams to ensure projects remain financially on track from planning through to delivery.

What you'll be doing

Working as part of our Construction Finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial management of major capital projects by:

Monitoring project costs across brownfield and greenfield developments

Preparing and maintaining project financial reporting and reconciliations

Supporting project budgeting and Board approval processes

Working closely with Design and Project Managers to ensure project costs are accurately captured

Monitoring project expenditure against approved budgets

Assisting with invoice workflow management and project cost allocation

Identifying discrepancies and providing accurate financial insights to support decision-making

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely financial information.

You'll ideally bring:

2-5 years' experience in a project, management or financial accounting role

A degree in Accounting or a related discipline

Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and reconciliations

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Confidence building relationships across multiple teams

Experience with project accounting or construction projects will be highly regarded

Exposure to Procore or Microsoft Dynamics Navision is advantageous, but not essential
