We are seeking a motivated engineer with strong programming and problem-solving skills. You'll work with our diverse and multi-disciplinary group of engineers across different organizations at Apple to develop sophisticated automated testing fixtures and robotics solutions that ensure our world-changing products meet the exceptional quality standards our customers expect. We partner with engineering teams to deeply understand new technologies and act as a focal point for ensuring Apple’s high bar for quality throughout the process.

Description
As an Automation Quality Engineer focused on display validation, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Apple products with external displays. You’ll plan, develop, and execute system, stability and stress tests with a strong focus on hardware-centric software risks. This role requires integrating software and hardware solutions to build world-class intelligent automation systems. Combine software and hardware automation components to create a system capable of testing external displays with Apple devices
Formulate, review, execute, and lead test strategies and plans for automation, focusing on display validation with Apple products
Stay up to date with the evolving AI/ML landscape and apply knowledge to automate device/cable detection and plug-in
Help improve our tools, infrastructure, and practices based on new developments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the most effective and impactful ways to test and solve short and long-term problems
Preferred Qualifications
Technical knowledge of I/O technologies, including graphic interfaces (Thunderbolt, DP, HDMI, USB, etc.)
Experience using and/or creating AI tools for development or robotic applications
Strong understanding of QA methodologies and practices
Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks and tools that test coverage in complex system environments and support large-scale validation
Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive validation test plans, work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams and deliver results in concurrent multi-system environments
Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and fabrication (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
A minimum of two years experience developing robotic solutions in Python with experience in complex, multi-language systems
Experience with computer vision (OpenCV) and/or AI/ML applications
Strong software engineering skills, delivering clean, well-tested, and optimized code
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and collaborate
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
