Customer Engineering Manager (m/f/d)

What you will enjoy doing

In this role you lead the local engineering team with 4 direct reports, ensuring reliable delivery, clear structures, and efficient processes

You provide strategic and hands‑on engineering leadership to the Novara manufacturing site

Further you lead new product introduction (NPI) and process industrialization, ensuring strong alignment with customer commitments, timelines, and business objectives

Also you you drive accurate costing and technical estimation for new and existing opportunities, ensuring competitive and commercially viable solutions

Moreover you act as a key technical interface with sales and customers, interpreting specifications, providing expert guidance, and building strong relationships

In this role you support customer audits, site visits, and validation activities, including preparation of product substantiation and qualification reports

You collaborate with leadership and business development teams to identify growth opportunities and scope

In this role you promote a continuous improvement mindset, encouraging innovation, accountability, and proactive problem-solving across the engineering team

Responsibilities include developing and optimizing robust manufacturing processes, documentation, and tooling solutions aligned with customer and quality requirements

Further you apply advanced quality tools to drive zero‑defect performance, lead root‑cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions

You manage end‑to‑end process and capital projects while supporting continuous improvement to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and operational excellence

In this role you will be hired under the metalworking national collective agreement, with a gross annual salary between €62.000 and €75.000, and meal vouchers worth €10 for each working day

What makes you great

Responsibilities include holding a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, combined with 7 years of experience in a production environment – aerospace preferred

You hold a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, preferred focus on surface technologies/welding/production technology, 5y experience in a production environment – aerospace preferred

The role requires an open-minded personality with interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, with superiors, colleagues, and customers

Among the core competencies is being a detail‑oriented self‑starter with the ability to work independently, supported by effective analytical and problem‑solving skills

Fluent English proficiency is expected as part of the role’s communication requirements

The position involves actively promoting and and demonstrating a collaborative safety and health culture across the organization

You demonstrate commitment to high level of operational discipline and compliance to standard work procedure
