The Role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Analyst to join our Financial Crime Risk team in Melbourne.

In this role you will support the development, maintenance, and execution of the strategic intelligence priorities of the Financial Crime Intelligence Unit (FCIU) and Risk Assessments team.

Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

Analyse customer and transaction data to identify trends, patterns and emerging financial crime risks.

Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, visualisations and reporting solutions

Support transaction monitoring scenario development, testing and optimisation.

Collaborate with stakeholders across Financial Crime Operations, Risk Assessment, Data Analytics and IT teams.

Develop and maintain specialist AML/CTF and regulatory knowledge, with a particular focus on financial crime typologies and emerging risks.

About you

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in environments where critical thinking and collaboration are key, and who is eager to learn about protecting organisations from financial crime through robust risk assessments. Your ability to analyse complex information, communicate insights clearly, and build strong relationships with stakeholders will set you up for success in this role.

To be successful, you will have:

Experience working in a financial crime risk management, consulting or regulatory environment.

Proven experience in the execution of risk assessments in line with risk assessment methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate insights to a range of stakeholders.

An interest in financial crime, AML/CTF, compliance or regulatory risk.

Practical experience using data analytics and data visualisation tools (e.g. SQL, Splunk, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI etc.) is desirable.

A Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Data Science, Information Technology, Business Management; Law; MBA etc.) is desirable.
