Facility Manager – Pharma & Biotech Operations
About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Facility Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of office and industrial facilities within a Pharma/Biotech environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in Electrical and HVAC systems, and a proven track record of managing large teams while ensuring operational excellence, safety, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage end-to-end facility operations for office and industrial facilities.
Ensure smooth functioning of critical infrastructure, including Electrical, HVAC, Utilities, and Building Management Systems.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Manage facility budgets, vendor contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Drive operational efficiency, energy management, and cost optimization initiatives.
Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of 30+ employees and service providers.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless facility support and business continuity.
Handle audits, inspections, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
Monitor facility performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or a related field.
Minimum 10+ years of overall facility management experience.
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership/senior management role.
Proven experience managing office and industrial facilities, preferably within the Pharma, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or Manufacturing sectors.
Strong technical knowledge of Electrical and HVAC operations and maintenance.
Experience managing teams of 30+ personnel, including vendors and subcontractors.
Strong understanding of facility compliance, EHS standards, and statutory requirements.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in GMP-regulated facilities.
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.
Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
