Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Robotics Engineer for Automation & Autonomy Core Software, at John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, located in Santa Clara, California, you will join our team building a world class software stack to deliver our A&A tech stack solutions.
In addition, you will:
Collaborate with other embedded, robotics, and test team members across multiple Deere units to integrate BSP and software middleware into perception applications
Use a deep understanding of embedded software solutions to develop C++ services and applications for embedded Linux devices
Troubleshoot and develop package solutions that combine software ecosystems and application software into a customer deployable package
Operate in an Agile development team, providing input to design reviews within and outside your area of responsibility
Coach and mentor new and experienced engineers how to develop within and to extend established guidelines

What Skills You Need
3 or more years of experience with embedded Linux software development
Experience with BSP or middleware software
Experience in roles that required excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical staff
Ability and willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 10%
What Makes You Standout
Experience developing embedded software in C or C++
Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Python, shell, Bash, etc.)
Experience with build servers and CI/CD
Experience with computer vision and robotics concepts (RGB, infrared, and other spectrums, homography, calibration, stereovision, odometry, SLAM)
Experience with CAN and Ethernet networking communication protocols
Experience with Agile software development processes
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and software test automation
Agricultural or construction/earthmoving industry experience
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
