About the role

Ingenious Media is seeking a capable, proactive and solutions-focused Website and IT Support Executive to manage and update our portfolio of company and event websites.

Reporting directly to the Head of Department, this is a hands-on IT role combining website management, first-line IT support, SEO, AI optimisation and digital marketing support.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for routine website updates and maintenance, act as the main internal point of contact for website requirements, support colleagues with day-to-day IT issues and coordinate more complex development work with external web specialists.

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems and taking ownership of their work. It does not require high-level web development, but it does require strong technical confidence, attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include

· Managing and updating all company and event websites.

· Publishing and maintaining event information, agendas, speaker profiles, exhibitor and sponsor content, graphics, news and registration details.

· Creating, editing and formatting website pages, posts and landing pages.

· Checking that dates, links, forms, contact details and calls to action are accurate and working correctly.

· Completing routine website maintenance and resolving straightforward technical issues.

· Testing website updates across desktop and mobile devices.

· Identifying and correcting outdated, duplicated or inaccurate content.

· Investigating website, software and system issues and implementing practical solutions.

· Acting as the primary internal contact for website updates, issues and development requests.

· Coordinating higher-level development requirements with external web specialists.

· Providing first-line IT support to colleagues across email, software, devices, account access and online systems.

· Supporting the setup, adoption and effective use of new systems, tools and software.

· Maintaining clear records and processes for website access, permissions, plugins and related systems.

· Supporting on-page SEO, including headings, metadata, image descriptions, URLs, internal linking and content structure.

· Improving website content and structure for visibility across traditional search engines and AI-powered search platforms.

· Monitoring website performance and identifying practical opportunities for improvement.

· Supporting email marketing templates, campaign landing pages, registration forms, tracking and digital customer journeys.

· Staying informed about developments in websites, SEO, AI optimisation, email marketing, digital advertising and marketing technology.

· Suggesting and implementing relevant improvements, tools and opportunities.

· Providing clear progress updates and raising risks, delays or technical concerns with the Head of Department.

Key skills and experience

· Practical experience managing and updating WordPress websites.

· Strong general IT knowledge and technical problem-solving skills.

· Ability to investigate unfamiliar issues methodically and find practical solutions.

· Ability and willingness to learn new systems, platforms and processes quickly.

· Experience uploading, formatting and quality-checking website content.

· Good understanding of SEO and website content optimisation.

· Awareness of AI search optimisation, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.

· Familiarity with email marketing platforms, CRM systems and digital marketing tools.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Confidence working independently and taking ownership of assigned work.

· Ability to manage multiple websites, priorities and deadlines.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to explain technical issues in straightforward language.

· Strong organisational and time-management skills.

· A proactive approach to improving systems, processes and digital performance.

Desirable experience

· Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.

· ACF experience

· Experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

· Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM and email marketing platform.

· Knowledge of website hosting, domains, DNS, plugins, backups and security.

· Understanding of website accessibility, performance and mobile optimisation.

· Familiarity with digital advertising platforms and campaign tracking.

· Experience working within events, media, publishing or digital marketing.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in completing work accurately, meeting deadlines and identifying better ways to get things done.
