We are seeking a Resident Data Architect to support Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio and the broader data foundation for a long-term engagement, focusing on serverless data pipelines, modern data lake architectures and agentic AI integration aligned with AWS cloud-native best practices
Responsibilities
Configure, manage and support Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio, including data catalog, blueprints and serverless compute capabilities
Enable self-service data discovery, exploration and analysis for business and technical users through SMUS
Maintain SMUS blueprints and templates for repeatable, governed data workflows
Oversee SMUS IAM domains, access policies and governance configurations
Architect the customer's data foundation on AWS to ensure scalability, governance and performance
Optimize data lake architectures using Amazon S3, including modern storage formats such as Parquet, Iceberg and Delta
Implement data cataloging, partitioning and lifecycle management strategies for large-scale data environments
Integrate Amazon OpenSearch Service for search, analytics and data exploration use cases
Build serverless data pipelines using AWS Glue and AWS Lambda
Develop ETL/ELT jobs for data ingestion, transformation and delivery across the data platform
Support the integration and delivery of Quick Suite for analytics, dashboards and self-service reporting
Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles with emphasis on security, reliability, performance efficiency and cost optimization
Requirements
8+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering or a related field within AWS cloud environments
Expertise in Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio and data lake architecture
Proficiency in AWS Glue and AWS Lambda for serverless data compute workflows
Skills in Amazon S3 including modern storage formats such as Parquet, Iceberg and Delta
Background in Amazon OpenSearch Service for search, analytics and data exploration
Understanding of data foundation architecture including catalog, governance and self-service enablement
English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
Familiarity with Quick Suite / Amazon QuickSight for analytics and dashboards
Knowledge of agentic AI services such as Bedrock Agents and AgentCore
Familiarity with Amazon Lake Formation
Skills in infrastructure as code using CDK or Terraform
Proficiency in Python
