Team Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Product Monitoring Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the health, performance, and reliability of our products and services. The successful candidate plays a pivotal part in ensuring product quality, enabling proactive issue detection, conduct in-depth analysis of monitoring data, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our monitoring and alerting capabilities
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Alert First-Responder: Act as the initial point of contact for system alerts, ensuring timely triage and escalation where necessary.
Monitoring & Trend Analysis: Track and analyse product monitoring metrics and historical trends to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Tooling & Dashboards: Utilise monitoring tooling (such as OpenTelemetry) and other observability tools to build and interpret dashboards that provide actionable insights.
Exception Investigation: Investigate exceptions and outliers in monitoring data to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Automation: Develop and maintain automated tests and alerts to enhance monitoring coverage and reduce manual effort.
Impact Analysis: Conduct initial and full impact assessments for potential issues, including root cause analysis and documentation of findings.
Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide analytical support for online product-related issues, monitoring, testing and other business-critical queries as needed.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Skills & Experience Essential:
Experience with monitoring tools and observability platforms (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Grafana).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Experience with automated alerting and test frameworks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable:
Familiarity with issue management processes and tools.
Experience in a data product or technology environment.
Knowledge of scripting or programming for automation (e.g. Python, R).
