Now Hiring | Senior SQL Developer (Geospatial Experience Advantage)

Location: Adelaide, South Australia Work Type: Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to join a high-performing team delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.

This role is ideal for a SQL professional with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server development, database performance optimisation, and CI/CD database deployments using Azure DevOps. Experience working with geospatial data or GIS technologies will be highly regarded but is not essential.

You’ll work within an Agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with application and data teams to design, develop, optimise, and deploy high-quality database solutions that support critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database solutions

Write and optimise stored procedures, functions, views, and complex SQL queries

Perform database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimisation

Support CI/CD database deployments using Azure DevOps

Work with source control, build pipelines, release pipelines, and database deployment processes

Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and project teams in an Agile environment

Support the successful delivery of enterprise data and application solutions

Contribute to database quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Skills & Experience

Strong experience developing solutions using Microsoft SQL Server

Extensive experience writing and maintaining:

Stored Procedures

Functions

Views

Complex SQL Queries

Strong database performance tuning and optimisation skills

Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps

Experience with:

Source Control

CI/CD Pipelines

Build & Release Pipelines

Database Deployment Processes

Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies

Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration skills

Highly Desirable

Experience working with Geospatial or GIS data and applications

Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms
