About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers. About the Role

The Staff Engineer role sits within the Internal Developer Platforms team, where you will play a key role in architecting the future ANZ developer platform. You will help shape the systems, tooling, and engineering foundations that enable engineers across ANZ to build, release, and operate software safely, efficiently, and at scale.

Operating across teams and partnering with a broad range of stakeholders, you will influence platform strategy, drive critical system design decisions, and ensure solutions are aligned to both engineering and business priorities. The platforms and tools you help shape support engineers across multiple domains and underpin critical workloads within one of Australia’s leading financial institutions.

Beyond delivering technical outcomes, you will elevate engineering standards, champion quality and operational excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Through your technical leadership, systems thinking, and ability to influence across boundaries, you will help create a developer experience that accelerates innovation and enables engineering teams to deliver with confidence at scale.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Extensive experience driving engineering best practices and complex solution design for critical, high-scale applications, including scalable, reliable and compliant services.
