About the role

Job Description:

About AXA:

AXA is a global leader in insurance and financial services, dedicated to helping customers protect what matters most to them. As the sixth-largest insurance company in the world, we provide a wide range of services, including health, car, home, and business insurance. We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life's uncertainties with confidence.

AXA Health supports members to put their health first, from individuals to huge corporates, with fast access to diagnosis and treatment when they need it.

Job overview:

We’re on the lookout for a proactive and organised Financial Analyst to join our team in Tunbridge Wells. This is a fantastic opportunity to support our financial close processes, produce insightful reports, and help keep our financial reporting accurate and timely. You'll work closely with the wider finance team, supporting the Health PBR Close Manager and contributing to our ongoing financial performance analysis.

Key responsibilities:

Support the coordination of the AXA Health month-end close process to meet deadlines for Group and local reporting.

Assist in producing and booking key figures into our financial ledger, including policy volumes, revenue, and commission costs.

Prepare and review monthly reports, including revenue, population, underwriting, income statements and to investigate any unusual results.

Provide commentary on key metrics, comparing performance against budgets and previous periods, to help the team understand the numbers.

Support the input and validation of data into our group reporting tool, Magnitude.

Analyse financial performance, highlighting variances and supporting ad-hoc requests for data or reports.

Help maintain the monthly control checks to ensure accuracy and minimise operational risks.

Collaborate with the team to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and drive efficiencies.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

We know that some candidates may be discouraged from applying if they don't meet every requirement. If you’re excited by this job and the prospect of working at AXA but you’re not sure you tick every box, we’d still encourage you to apply.

Your skills & experience:

Experience in an accounting or analytical role, ideally within insurance or health.

Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience; studying or qualified by experience.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial data.

Good knowledge of accounting principles and P&L statements.

Confident with Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable working with various reporting tools.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt when priorities shift.

Excellent communication skills, able to write clear, insightful commentary.

A team player with a proactive approach and a keen eye for detail.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

How to apply:

We encourage you to apply for this opportunity as soon as possible, as we may close this advert earlier than the listed closing date.
