THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our Finance team where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining activity-based costing and reporting against standards for our nursery sites across the country. Working closely with both the nursery operations and finance team, you will also perform management reporting of variances to activity-based costing standards.
Some of your key responsibilities during rotations, will include:
Develop and maintain activity-based costing standards across nursery operations.
Classify costs across labour, overheads, inventory and capital categories.
Establish inventory valuations and support management reporting.
Prepare and analyse variance reports against costing standards.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting activities.
Assist with capital expenditure requests and investment analysis.
Partner with operational leaders to identify opportunities for improved cost efficiency and performance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to demonstrate capabilities in the following:
Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting is essential with CPA accreditation
Previous experience in a similar role within manufacturing and/or horticulture environment
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and with fully integrated enterprise systems preferred
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with all levels of business stakeholders
Valid unrestricted Australian working rights
