Role description
Job Title: QA Automation Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with 8 years of experience, primarily focused on test automation using modern frameworks and tools. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Playwright and TypeScript, along with a solid understanding of manual testing practices to support end-to-end quality assurance. You will play a key role in building scalable automation solutions and ensuring high-quality product releases.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and scripts for web and API applications.
Drive automation strategy, focusing on increasing test coverage, reducing manual effort, and improving release quality.
Develop and execute automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing.
Perform manual testing where required, including exploratory and edge-case validations.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure testability and high coverage.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster feedback cycles.
Analyze test results, identify defects early, and perform root cause analysis.
Review code and promote automation best practices across the team.
Continuously enhance automation frameworks and adopt new tools/technologies.
Ensure adherence to QA standards, processes, and Agile methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
8 years of experience in QA with strong focus on Automation Testing
Proven expertise in Playwright and TypeScript
Strong programming skills in JavaScript / TypeScript (Java/Python is a plus)
Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
Good understanding of manual testing concepts (test design, defect lifecycle, exploratory testing)
Experience with API automation and testing (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and Agile practices
Preferred / Good to Have
Experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit
Exposure to BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Behave)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and cloud-based testing
Knowledge of Git and version control practices
Experience with SQL and database testing
Exposure to containerized or cloud-native test environments
