Account Manager (Agency Partners)
Skills
About the role
Taichung - Remote. Travel as needed.
Matchii is the new way to hire agencies. Matched, not browsed.
Buyers describe what they need and the right team appears - vetted to a single bar, priced against real benchmark data, backed by outcome insurance. For the agencies on the other side, the offer is simple: briefs arrive funded, payment is guaranteed, and the pipeline stops being a prayer.
Signing an agency is the easy half. Keeping them delivering, growing, and glad they said yes - that's this job.
Mission
Own the health of the agency partner base. Get new partners live and shipping, keep the good ones growing, and turn the ones proving value into paying partners.
Role summary
You are the supply side's keep-and-grow seat. Partners land through the Head of Partnerships; from the moment they sign, they're yours.
Two things you carry. Keep: onboarding, activation, response times, delivery quality, retention. Grow: revenue per partner, and converting partners on our free contributor tiers into paying tiers once they've felt the value.
You are the first hire on this motion, so you're building it as you run it. No CS playbook is waiting for you. You report to the Head of Partnerships and work close to ops, product, and the demand side.
Compensation includes commission tied to partner revenue and tier conversion. What you grow, you're paid on.
What you'll own
Onboarding and activation. A signed partner is not a live partner. You get them from contract to first brief shipped - profile, categories, capacity, response SLAs, the works. You own the drop-off between yes and active, and you kill it.
Partner health. Response times, delivery quality, buyer ratings, capacity signals. You know which partners are thriving, which are drifting, and which are about to churn - before they tell you.
Revenue per partner. More briefs to the partners who earn them. You work the routing conversation with the Head of Partnerships, and you make sure our best agencies have a reason to stay best.
Tier conversion. Our contributor partners join free. Once the platform is delivering for them, you're the one who makes the case for a paid tier - with the results as the argument, not a pitch deck. This is a real commercial number, and it's yours.
Retention. 90-day retention, and beyond. Churn on a partner we flew across the region to sign is expensive. You're the reason it doesn't happen.
The playbook. Onboarding flow, health scoring, QBR cadence, escalation paths, the upgrade conversation. You'll write the version the next three people use.
Who we're looking for
4+ years in account management, customer success, or partner management - with a real revenue or retention number attached, not a support queue.
You have upsold or expanded accounts, and you're comfortable asking for money from someone who currently pays nothing.
You run accounts proactively. You spot the drift before the churn, and you'd rather make the call than send the email.
Operator's grip on the numbers: activation, retention, revenue per account, cohort health.
Comfortable in high ambiguity. Early stage, no playbook, you build the process while you're running it.
You can hold a serious conversation with an agency founder about their pipeline and their margin without faking it.
Excellent written and spoken English. Additional regional languages a strong plus.
Remote-fluent and self-directed, with a working overlap with Southeast Asia hours. Occasional travel to partner markets as needed.
Preferred
Agency background - you've worked in one, run one, or spent years alongside them. Not required, but it shortens the ramp considerably.
Marketplace or two-sided platform experience, on the supply side.
Strong with CRM. Attio, HubSpot, or similar.
Why this, why now
The partner base is being built right now, founder to founder, one signature at a time. Every one of those agencies is a bet - and whether that bet pays depends almost entirely on what happens after the handshake. That's the seat. Small partner base today, a network to run in twelve months, and a commercial number you own from the start.
