Job Summary
KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM) combines deep industry knowledge and strong execution capabilities to deliver strategic ideas and capital to our clients. The Equity Sales and Trading Analyst is responsible for facilitating listed securities transactions by partnering with institutional sales teams and clients to identify trading opportunities and deliver seamless execution. This role plays a critical part in maintaining client relationships, generating trade ideas, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Essential Functions
Execute listed securities transactions by matching simultaneous buy and sell orders, often in a risk-neutral capacity.
Partner with institutional sales teams to identify trading opportunities and respond to client inquiries.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients through consistent execution and service.
Communicate market color, trade ideas, and execution strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with trading, compliance, and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely trade processing.
Educate sales teams on product capabilities and execution strategies aligned with client financial goals.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge and stay current on market trends and regulatory developments.
Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, Business, or a related quantitative field or equivalent experience (preferred)
Work Experience
1+ years of experience in the financial services industry (required)
Demonstrated ability to articulate products and services to clients. (preferred)
Experience in client relationship management, sales, or trading (preferred)
Proven ability to communicate proactively with salespeople and clients. (required)
Broad product knowledge and technical expertise in listed securities. (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
FINRA License S7 (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe) (required)
FINRA License S63 (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe) (required)
FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe) (required)
FINRA License S57 (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe) (required)
Skills
Ability to make real-time decisions in fast-moving markets.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting client relationships.
Understanding of listed securities markets and execution strategies.
Experience working across sales, trading, and compliance teams to deliver client solutions.
Ability to assess challenges from multiple perspectives and develop effective solutions.
Use of logic and data to evaluate market opportunities and execution strategies.
Understanding of how execution impacts broader business and client outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bloomberg.

Physical Demands
General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.
Travel
Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $63,000.00 - $96,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
