As UX Research Intern you will support our product development with the user in mind, leveraging our global expertise and capabilities to deliver trusted answers to our user’s most critical questions in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets. As part of a globally operating team of 15+ experienced UX designers you will be involved with different tasks of a UX research intern, ranging from project support to investigations. Anticipated duration of 6 months, from September/October 2026 (1-month flexibility). Tasks:
As part of a team of 15+ experienced UX designers you will support us in applying & scaling UX research across the company worldwide
You will support user research and usability evaluation during development of laboratory solutions (including instruments, software, supplies & services)
Support the research by planning, participant recruiting, logistics (e.g. test setup) and selection of appropriate methods to accomplish the research goal.
Plan, conduct and present the outcomes of user research activities, such as observations, workflow maps, interviews and usability evaluations
Developing as-is scenarios, personas, user journey maps, use-scenarios and affinity diagrams are also part of the work
Contribute to transfer the gained insights into clear user requirements for our project teams
Support our team to refine & evolve our UX research processes & methods (including AI enhanced research & evaluation)
Be also involved in educating different company stakeholders about UX research by your work

Qualifications
Candidates currently enrolled in University study in the field of Usability Engineering, Human Factors, Psychology, User Experience Design or similar.
Good understanding & experience with user research techniques & usability evaluation methods
Good knowledge about the Human Centered Design Process (ISO 9241-210)
Familiar with design tools (Figma,) Microsoft Office, and AI Tools
Great communication skills
Analytical thinker with a positive attitude, a creative mindset and desire to learn.
Team player and motivated character with enthusiasm to engage with colleagues & project teams.
Self-organization ability, with multi-tasking skills
Fluence in English (German is a benefit, but no must)
Technical affinity
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
CPUX-F certification, Nielsen Norman UX certificate or similar
Interest in Life Sciences and the laboratory processes & environment
Experience in building software prototypes (e.g. Figma or AI Generated)
Familiarity with design systems
