A joint venture company between Rolls-Royce Plc and SIA Engineering Company. The company first started operations in 2001 and has since become a market leader for both engine overhaul and component repair services.

As a result of sustained business growth, SAESL has continued to its facilities and develop new capabilities for both its engine overhaul and component repair businesses. The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. The Engine Overhaul business has the capacity to repair and overhaul over 300 Trent engines per year and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art Engine Test Facility that supports our best-in-class engine turnaround times.

Job Summary

Lead the development and industrialization of component repair capabilities and technology-enabled manufacturing solutions to support business growth, operational excellence and scalable MRO performance. Drive end-to-end development, validation and deployment of repair schemes, ensuring repair solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective, repeatable and production ready. Collaborate closely with Rolls-Royce and cross-functional stakeholders to align repair capability priorities, optimize technical solutions, and ensure successful industrialization and delivery-at-rate.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the development, validation and industrialisation of component repair schemes to ensure compliance with approved technical data, airworthiness requirements and product safety standards.

Collaborate with Rolls-Royce repair capability and industrialisation teams to align repair development priorities, refine technical solutions and ensure safe, effective deployment of repair capabilities.

Own the development and industrialisation of robust, repeatable and controlled repair processes, including PFMEA, control plans, process validation, measurement strategies and FAIR readiness.

Drive continuous improvement of repair methods, measurement techniques and inspection processes to enhance repair robustness, manufacturability and shop-floor execution.

Identify, assess and escalate technical risks, capability gaps, approval constraints and industrialisation issues that may impact safety, quality, delivery, compliance or production readiness.

Develop and deploy new or enhanced repair methods that improve repair yield, reduce shop visit costs, minimise new-part replacement and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Leverage technology, automation, tooling, metrology and digital solutions to improve component repair capability, productivity and cost competitiveness.

Partner with Operations, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and external stakeholders to prioritise repair capability deployment, resolve technical issues and support production readiness.

Lead cross-functional teams in the successful industrialisation and implementation of repair capabilities to achieve stable, repeatable production performance.

Lead, coach and develop the Repair Capability Engineering team, fostering technical excellence, systems thinking, collaboration and a continuous improvement culture.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with Rolls-Royce, Operations, Quality, suppliers and other key stakeholders to accelerate capability development and business growth.

Qualification / Experience

Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree will be an advantage.

Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in the aviation or MRO industry, including leadership experience in civil aero-engine engineering within a Part 145 regulated environment.

Proven experience in repair capability development, repair scheme industrialisation, manufacturing engineering and technical validation within a regulated aerospace environment.

Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, airworthiness requirements, engineering governance and quality management systems. Familiarity with EASA Part 145, CAAS, FAA and OEM technical approval processes is preferred.

Strong understanding of aero-engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), engineering substantiation, technical risk management, engineering standards, FAIR and capability acquisition.

Demonstrated experience in integrating manufacturing processes, repair technologies, tooling, metrology, inspection and operational readiness to deliver production-ready solutions.

Proven ability to apply automation, digital technologies, process control and advanced manufacturing solutions to improve repair capability, productivity and cost competitiveness.

Experience in leading technical collaborations with OEMs, regulatory authorities, research institutions and industry partners to drive capability development and technology adoption.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, strategic planning, project management and business acumen, with the ability to align engineering resources and capability investments to business objectives.
