Manage the coordination of multiple infrastructure projects at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.

Ongoing, Full-time opportunity.

COG grade 4 - $110,969 - $135,401 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Operations Manager – Project to provide a critical role at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.

About the Business Unit

The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum security facility for unsentenced male offenders within the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

About the Role

The Operations Manager - Project, is required to manage the coordination of multiple infrastructure projects occurring across the location, including ensuring compliance with prison procedures and acting as a point of contact for various stakeholders involved in the projects. The Operations Manager is also responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team of staff involved in the projects. They are also responsible for the communication of the project progression to the broader location.

It may be a requirement of this position to work weekends and public holidays, which will be remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.

Some of your duties will include:

Liaise with Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA), CV Contract administration staff, contractors and prison management regarding the construction and operationalisation of the projects.

Manage project logistics including decanting and relocating of staff to allow works to proceed.

Develop policies and procedures relating to the infrastructure works, temporary arrangements of services and other initiatives as required, which may involve consultation with various groups and attendance at various project related meetings.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Sound knowledge of prison operations and functions within Corrections Victoria.

An ability to conduct research, implement and evaluate projects.

Qualifications/requirements

Preservice training or jurisdictional equivalent) or the preparedness to complete certain modules of the preservice training

Custodial Management is favourable but not essential
