About Vortexen
Vortexen Dynamics Industrial Solutions is expanding its specialist Firestopping, Passive Fire Protection, Structural Fireproofing and Industrial Protective Coating operations into Canada.
We are looking for our first key employee in Canada to establish and manage Vortexen’s sales, client development, supplier relationships, project operations and execution capability.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing Vortexen’s business across Alberta, initially focusing on:
Edmonton
Nisku and Leduc
Fort Saskatchewan
Strathcona County
Alberta’s Industrial Heartland
Calgary
Other industrial and commercial locations across Alberta
This position requires a technically capable and commercially driven professional who can generate projects, develop manufacturer relationships, build applicator teams and manage projects from initial enquiry through completion and payment collection.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development
Establish Vortexen’s Firestopping and Passive Fire Protection business in Alberta.
Identify potential clients, projects, tenders and subcontracting opportunities.
Develop relationships with:
General contractors
EPC contractors
Mechanical and electrical contractors
Fire-protection contractors
Industrial plant owners
Oil and gas companies
Petrochemical facilities
Hydrogen and clean-energy projects
Power-generation facilities
Data centres
Warehouses and logistics facilities
Hospitals and healthcare facilities
Universities and government facilities
Commercial and high-rise developments
Facility-management companies
Arrange client meetings, presentations, technical discussions and site visits.
Generate enquiries, RFQs, tender invitations and project opportunities.
Prepare and follow up technical and commercial proposals.
Negotiate prices, contracts, purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
Complete vendor registrations and contractor prequalifications.
Develop recurring business through annual maintenance, reinstatement, inspection and framework contracts.
Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue, gross-profit and collection targets.
Manufacturer and Supplier Development
Identify suitable Firestopping, Fireproofing and Protective Coating manufacturers and distributors in Canada.
Develop relationships with manufacturer representatives and authorised distributors.

Coating and corrosion-protection requirements
Review project drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documents.

Coordinate BOQ preparation and estimation with Vortexen’s India technical support office.

Project and Operations Management
Manage projects from purchase order through mobilisation, execution, inspection, handover, invoicing and collection.
Prepare project-execution plans and work schedules.

Conduct or coordinate site inductions and toolbox meetings.

Canada Business Setup Support
The selected candidate will assist Vortexen management with establishing the Canadian operation, including:
Identifying a suitable office and operational base.
Supporting company registration and administrative setup.
Coordinating banking, accounting, insurance and payroll requirements.
Identifying affordable warehouse, vehicle and equipment solutions.
Developing local suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
Building the initial client and project pipeline.
Establishing operational and reporting procedures.
Supporting recruitment and onboarding.
Coordinating with Vortexen’s UAE management and India support office.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or recognised trade qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection, Construction Management, Coating Technology or a related field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
Firestopping
Passive fire protection
Structural fireproofing
Intumescent coatings
Industrial protective coatings
Fire-rated construction
Specialist construction subcontracting
Proven experience in both business development and project operations.
Experience dealing with general contractors, EPC contractors, industrial clients or facility owners.
Ability to conduct site surveys and prepare estimates.
Ability to read drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Experience managing applicators, supervisors and subcontractors.
Knowledge of construction safety, quality and project-documentation requirements.
Strong commercial negotiation and client-management skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Valid Canadian driving licence or ability to obtain one immediately.
Willingness to travel across Alberta and other Canadian provinces when required.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
Direct experience in Firestopping or Passive Fire Protection.
Experience with recognised firestop, fireproofing or coating manufacturers.
Existing relationships with Alberta-based contractors, EPC companies or industrial plants.
Experience working in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, hydrogen or industrial facilities.
Knowledge of Canadian firestop testing and listed-system requirements.
Experience with industrial shutdowns and maintenance projects.
Experience in data centres, hospitals, commercial buildings or infrastructure projects.
Access to experienced applicators, supervisors or subcontractor teams.
Experience completing contractor prequalifications and tender submissions.
Previous experience establishing a new division, branch or regional operation.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety and workers’ compensation requirements.
